Birthday Boy

Mr G turns 36 tomorrow. He thinks that means he is beginning to slide down the other side of the hill! Ha, to me 36 sounds so young. (If you haven't figured it out, yes his birthday is April 1st, but he aint no Fool).

Birthdays in our house are always a big deal. We make a big fuss, get totally spoilt and never go to work on our birthdays.

Mr G's mum is here, all the way from England, to celebrate with him on his Big Day for the first time since he emigrated to New Zealand 13 years ago. They will go and spend some special mother-son time tomorrow while I make a cake and prepare stuff.

I have been racking my brains for what to get him for a present. I never usually leave it this late! Friday night we'll have a nice get-together with freinds, at home outside under the grapevine, candles, music, fairy lights, drinkies and Mr G's favourite Tiramisu cake from Eve's Pantry (yummo).

So since I probably won't get to blog tomorrow (I will be making sure the Birthday Boy has a fab day), here's a birthday wish for my hunny:

Mr G, you are a great man. You deserve a wonderful day celebrating the day you were born. I personally would be the poorer if you weren't in the world, and I know there's many others who agree with me. When I began to get to know you I spotted the seed of greatness - a kind generous, humble heart along with strength, determination and a can-do attitude. I knew you were The One for me.

I've watched that seed keep growing into a great oak tree, as you keep your heart humble and open to change; you continue to bless others with your giving and are a dependable, faithful husband and father. You bring so much fun and energy to our crazy family of Clowns! I know you're not perfect (hey, who is?) but you're the only one for me. Luv You!
