While He Was Skiiing (plus Bloggy Giveaway)

In two hours time I will be out at the airport picking up my long-lost husband from the airport. He has been away Skiing in Fabulous Queenstown with his football team. Its a hard life.

"Nice for some," you might say.
But ya know, he works hard to put keep food on the table and keep the wolf from the door, so he deserves a little "him-time".

I just hope that when he gets back he appreciates what I have suffered while he has been gone *sniff*

While he was skiing...
~ I had a whole bed to stretch out in {until the kids crept in round midnight}
~ I did endless cleaning and housework {assisted by Kerry my Friday cleaner who he pays}
~ I comforted a toddler in the middle of the night by reading Thomas {crying for his daddy}
~ I fed the kids three times at that Scottish Restaurant {McSomething?}
~ I avoided taking the kids to church on my own {it just felt too hard}
~ I took them to Kung Fu Panda 2 instead {do I need to reevaluate my priorities?}

While he was skiing...
~ I cheered on my son at a victorious Futsal final and a Saturday match (and left my camera in the car)
~ I welcomed home my brother and his family from Spain (and left the camera in the car)
~ I hosted a family dinner
~ I reorganised the laundry cupboard and our wardrobe (with help from Kerry)
~ I repainted an old dresser

I guess you could say its been a productive weekend.

This random doggy wandered through a hole in the fence this morning. {I think fixing the fence will be on Daddy's To Do List once he's back.}

Three Year Blogiversary (and a giveaway)

Today is also my three year year blogiversary and my 600th post!
Is that neat'n'tidy or what?

Three years blogging. Who would have thought I'd never run out of things to say in all this time.
What started simply as a way to share my party ideas has become so much more than I could have ever imagined.

You know...
a community of inspiring women...
a wonderful support network...
a place to make true friends...
    and all that.

So many treasured friends I would never have met without this blog.

Lovely Bloggers I have met and now count as friends

Plus I have rediscovered my childhood dream of writing.
One day I will pour coffee for my friend Rebecca and we will drag out our ideas for The Book we want to write. I think I might have found the title, Becs. So when you coming to NZ next?
I have also been given the opportunity to write regularly for my favourite Parenting magazine, a dream come true.

That would never have happened without this blog.

The awesome Magazine I write for

In the meantime I am practising my writing skills on all of you, here on this little blog of mine.
I'll keep sharing my party ideas, running my bookclub, posting my blog tips and pouring out my heart right here til some nice Publisher stumbles across my blog and says, "I have a Book Deal for You!"
I can keep dreaming, can't I? {me and every second blogger out there}

To celebrate my Three Years Blogging I want to give you a present. A bloggy makeover.

If you win you can use the prize for yourself or gift it to a friend.

The Bloggy Makeover includes:
~ A New header designed by me, tailored specifically for you
~ A "Grabable button" to match
~ Tweaked layout and fonts to match (optional)

What do you do to enter?
~ Leave me a comment on this post
~ Make sure you are "following" this blog (where it says "Join this Site")

That's it!

My first bloggy meet-up {L-R: Weza, Gail, me, PaisleyJade & Banban, December 2009}

I could say, "Tell me what you love about my blog" or "Let me know your favourite post of mine" but that would be just fishing for compliments, wouldn't it? (unless you say otherwise, all comments will be considered entries)

I'll make the draw on Friday morning and announce the winner in my "Loving" post.

So happy Blogiversary to me. And Happy Monday.

Funny how it's easier to be more productive when the hubby's away...they must demand too much of our attention when they're home :-)
